It has been a busy week for us this week!

Today I was allowed to take Sasha to water rescue training.

We were told to take it easy but she could go in to the water and be worked a little.

I was very impressed how well she did.

She had a swim around with the trainer John and also "rescued" a stranger.

She has never rescued anybody so was totally following her instincts in rescuing this chap.

There were no need to lure her to go and rescue the chap, the minute she was allowed to do it off she went!

There were no weight put on her when she pulled the chap to the shore as we did not want to put pressure to her pelvis but even then I was so proud of my baby doing what was expected of her.

After she had a taste of what it is all about, she was very keen to go in the water when other dogs were being worked.

We have also started doing DAQ-lessons with Sasha.

More info on DAQ here http://www.daqinternational.com/.

Training is done in slow walking at first so this all works very well with the Chiropractic work and supports the changes made.

In order to be more aware of where her feet are, Sasha has been given leg wraps to wear when doing the exercises. The velcro straps are wrapped around front or hind legs to bring the dogs awareness to the limb & the foot and their use of them.

I was amazed in what difference they made when put on Sasha, she was walking over poles(on the ground)and tripped on all of them! The bands went on and she did the same poles with no tripping at all!

There is no weight to them, just very gentle pressure from the wrap . The feeling could be compared to us wearing a watch, when you first put a watch on, you will be much more aware of your arm and movements you make.
